Preheat the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 3 minutes.
Place frozen patties in the air fryer basket.
Sprinkle it with salt and pepper and any other seasonings.
Cook for 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees F. Flip over at the halfway point and add seasoning to that side.
When the cooking time is up, top the patty with a slice of cheese. Close the basket and let the residual heat melt the cheese. Or cook for another 30 seconds to one minute.
Remove burgers and use an air fryer to toast buns for one minute, if desired.
Serve with buns, toppings, and condiments.
Notes
Air fryers can vary by brand and model. Be sure you're familiar with how yours operates.
Burgers should be cooked in a single layer, not stacked. Depending on the size of your air fryer and the size of your patties, you may need to cook in batches.
The size and thickness of your burgers will affect how long it will take to reach a safe internal temperature.
For best results, cook burgers to a safe minimum internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
How you like your burgers cooked is a personal preference, so adjust time to reach desired result.
Because the air fryer has a non-stick basket, the excess grease is easy to pour away (in the trash, not the sink drain). You can also use a piece of bread placed between the basket and the crisper tray to help absorb the excess fat. Be sure to let the grease cool before discarding.
