Ingredients
Red skin potatoes: You can also use Yukon Gold, russet potatoes, yellow potatoes, or even sweet potatoes.
Olive oil: Substitute with avocado oil or a neutral tasing oil.
Garlic powder: Fresh minced garlic cloves also work great.
Italian seasoning: Try Cajun seasoning, curry powder, or a blend of fresh rosemary, fresh thyme, and fresh parsley.
Onion powder: Can be omitted if not available.
Sea salt and pepper: Adjust to taste or add parmesan cheese for extra savory flavor.
How do I make air fryer red potatoes?
Prepare Potatoes: Wash small red potatoes and pat dry with paper towels. Cut potatoes into small pieces or wedges for larger potatoes. Soak them briefly in cold water, then drain and dry thoroughly to ensure crispy edges.
Season Potatoes: In a large mixing bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and sea salt. Mix until evenly coated.
Air Fry Potatoes: Place potatoes in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if using a smaller air fryer.
Cooking Time: Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking. Potatoes should be crispy and fork-tender when done.
Serve Immediately: Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with your favorite dipping sauce like sour cream or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Top tips
- For crispy air fryer potatoes, always dry potatoes thoroughly before cooking.
