You will absolutely love the ooey-gooey goodness of these air fryer s’mores. You can have this delicious, warm, melty treat ready in just 5 minutes. All you need is some graham crackers, marshmallows, and a chocolate bar.

    an open faced s'more

The air fryer has become popular in recent years due to its versatility and ease of use. One of the best features of this device is its ability to make desserts like these s'mores at home!

These air fryer s'mores taste just like the traditional campfire version, but the best part is you don't need to use a camp stove or oven.

The air fryer is a cooker that uses superheated air to cook foods, much like how a convection oven works. It can make crispy outsides and gooey insides in record time by using the process of hot air circulation and quick cooking times.

    Highlights

    • Delicious - these air fryer s'mores are insanely delicious. They are just as good as the real thing without the hassle of having to mess with a fire.
    • Easy - these s'more are so easy to make! All you need is a few ingredients, your air fryer and just 5 minutes of your time. Plus, there is much less mess than traditional s'mores so you can just eat and enjoy.
    • Kid-friendly - your kids will definitely love these air fryer s'mores and they can even help to make them! Before air fryers, you had to wait for good fire weather to make s'mores. Now your kids can enjoy this sweet treat all year long!

    Ingredients

Graham crackers - if you have an intolerance to wheat or gluten, you can easily substitute gluten free graham crackers instead.

If you love graham crackers, try my popular Graham Cracker Pralines!

Hershey's chocolate bar - s'more are traditionally made with Hershey's chocolate, but you can use any of your favorite chocolate bars to elevate the flavor of your s'mores.

If you love chocolate, try my popular No Bake Chocolate Pie!

Marshmallows - I use the regular sized "jet-puffed", not the smaller size you would use in hot cocoa. However, if that's what you have on hand, then you can easily use them, you'll just need 4 or 5.

How to make air fryer s'mores

Step One: Cut a thin slice off the long side of each marshmallow. Place each marshmallow (sticky side down) on 4 graham cracker halves. Place graham crackers evenly apart in the air fryer basket.

If you like less marshmallow, just use two and cut each in half.

    • slicing the edge off a marshmallow
Slice off a small edge of marshmallow
    • pressing a marshmallow onto a graham crakcer
Press sticky side to graham cracker

Step Two: Set the air fryer to 390 degrees F and cook for 5 or 6 minutes, or until the marshmallows are softened and golden brown.

Step Three: Carefully remove graham crackers from the air fryer and immediately place a piece of chocolate on top of the marshmallows. The residual heat will melt the chocolate perfectly. Top with the other half graham cracker, if desired.

I use the Cosori XL for all my air fryer recipes. It's perfect for 4 to 6 people. You may also like this one that's also a toaster oven, or this smaller one from Dash perfect for 2 people.

    Top tips

    • Air fryers vary. Be sure you are familiar with how yours works and make adjustments to time and temperature as needed.
    • Preheating isn’t necessary.
    • Follow the same directions for one, two, or three s’mores.
    • Cut and use halved marshmallows if you prefer less.
    • Use as much or as little chocolate as desired.
    • Serve open faced, or top with another graham cracker for the classic dessert.
    • Drizzle with peanut butter for a twist on the classic.

    Storage and reheating

Your air fryer s'mores are best eaten fresh out of the air fryer. However, if you have a few leftover, they are fine to stay on the counter in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

You can eat your leftover s'mores at room temperature but you can also warm them in the microwave. Just place them on a microwave safe plate and heat them for 10-15 seconds until the marshmallow is softened.

    Common questions

    What does s'mores stand for?

S'more is a contraction for the phrase "some more". Like gimme some more because they are so good! S'mores used to be called "Graham Cracker Sandwiches".

Are s'mores just an American thing?

Although not confirmed, it is widely assumed that putting these ingredients together and making s'mores over a campfire was first invented by American Girl Scouts.

Are s'mores a thing in the UK?

Typically, no, s'mores are not smoothing that is popular in the UK. Ireland does have something similar called Kimberly Elite Biscuits, which consist of a ginger biscuit, marshmallow and chocolate.
