When we entertain, we love easy recipes that are quick and easy to make. It's one of those creamy dips everyone seems to love.

I usually make it ahead of time so all I have to do is pull it out of the refrigerator with some fresh veggies, crackers, or crusty bread pieces.

If you love easy dips like we do, try my popular homemade guacamole, blender salsa, or my ground beef queso dip!

Why this recipe works

Simple - no difficult steps are needed to make this snack.

Make it ahead - just prep several hours before needed to make party planning easier.

Serve cold or hot - we like this cold in the summer, but you can also bake it and serve it hot.

Ingredients

Full recipe card at bottom of post.

  • Cream cheese - softened at room temperature
  • Sour Cream
  • Mayonnaise
  • Dijon mustard
  • Beef jerky - use your favorite flavor and chop into small pieces
  • Shredded cheese
  • Jalapeño - or green pepper
  • Green onions
  • Black pepper

Do I have to use jalapeños?

You can use green bell peppers (or another color) instead of jalapeños if you prefer no spice.

What's the best beef jerky to use to make dip?

Use whatever flavor you love. I used original, but any flavor will taste great.

How do I serve beef jerky dip hot?

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Spray an oven proof dish (a small shallow dish, even a glass pie plate will work) with some non-stick cooking spray. Spread dip into prepared dish. Bake for 10 minute, or until lightly browned and bubbly around the edges.

top tips

  • Garnish beef jerky dip with sliced green onions and beef jerky pieces.
  • Add a ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, or soy sauce for added flavor.
  • Serve with celery sticks, cucumber slices and baby carrots for a healthy snack that's low carb/keto.
  • Use a food processor instead of a hand mixer if preferred.

How to store

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 or 5 days.

While this is a great make ahead appetizer, we don't recommend freezing it.

Serving suggestions

Whether you serve this beef jerky dip hot or cold, it will be a hit at your next party or get together. This filling dip is great as an appetizer along with other fun party foods.

Try this dip as a side dish with your favorite sandwich or salad.

Delicious as a topping on baked potatoes.
