Why you'll want to make it

It's quick and easy! Have a homemade dressing ready to go in about 10 minutes! Once you make your own blue cheese dressing you won't want to buy the processed stuff again. And why would you want to? This comes together quick and the tastes so much better.

It's made with easy to find fresh and pantry ingredients. I love when I can throw a recipe together with ingredients I already have in my fridge and pantry like buttermilk, mayo and sour cream. No need to search for any unusual ingredients when making this classic dressing recipe.

It's thick, rich, and full of flavor. Once you've tasted fresh Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing, you'll be in love with its creamy versatility.

Tips and variations

Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 3 days. The dressing will thicken once cold, so you can thin it out with buttermilk until desired consistency.

You can use Greek yogurt in place of the mayo, sour cream or both. Replace the mayo or sour cream with equal amounts of yogurt, of use ¾ cup if replacing both.

What do you eat with blue cheese dressing? This versatile recipe is amazing drizzled over salads or as a dip for cut up, raw vegetables. It's also a great with chicken wings or served along side grilled meats. If you've never had it with a burger, then you're missing out! You can use it as a spread for just about any sandwich combination you can think of.

If you are crazy about blue cheese, double the amount called for!

This is a delicious and simple to put together recipe! It can be adjusted by adding other simple ingredients. I added a tsp of Worcestershire sauce and a 1/2 cup of sliced green onions when I didn't have chives...Once I didn't have quite enough mayo and added greek yogurt to the mix. I keep it in a 1 1/2 pt. wide mouth jar in 'frig. Yummy!
