Tired of frozen pizza? I feel ya. While we love the convenience, the flavor and texture isn't always the best.

Enter air fryer naan pizza! This easy recipe has become a big hit with our family. It's especially great during the summer when the kids are home and need a quick lunch. They are always hungry and this recipe gives them the option to make their very own personal pizzas with little effort and mess.

Ingredients

Mini naan bread - use your favorite variety of naan bread. I used mini round garlic naan (not the dippers) for this recipe, because it adds a subtle garlic flavor. Whole wheat naan and plain naan bread, whether store bought or homemade, can be used. Larger naan pieces can be cut to fit your air fryer basket.

Authentic pizza sauce - this tomato sauce is a homemade sauce that is so easy to make, you don't even have to cook it! It's made with canned San Marzano tomatoes, olive oil, and a few other simple ingredients. I promise it will become your favorite pizza sauce! You can also use what you have on hand like marinara sauce or jarred pizza sauce. Or use Alfredo sauce for a white pizza.

Cheese - this comes down to your personal preference. I used pre-shredded mozzarella cheese to keep things classic, but other options include sliced cheese, fresh mozzarella, ciliegine (small mozzarella balls) and provolone.

Favorite toppings - get creative or keep things simple, it's up to you! I used pepperoni for this recipe, but there are a lot of options to choose from when it comes to making your own air fryer naan pizza. Try some thinly sliced red onion, bell peppers, mushrooms, and black olives for a vegetarian version. Or use leftover chicken for added protein.

How to make air fryer naan pizza

This is an overview of the recipe. Please go to the bottom of the post for precise amounts and printable recipe card.

1) Place naan in the air fryer basket. Try to get them in an even layer, but some overlapping is okay. Cook in batches if necessary.

2) To get a crispy pizza, we're going to air fry the naan at 370 degrees F for two minutes first, before adding the sauce and toppings.

3) Top the naan with pizza sauce, cheese and toppings.

4) Air fry at 370 degrees F for another 5 to 6 minutes, or until cheese is melted and the edges of naan are golden brown.

Tips

Cook in batches if necessary.

Don't overload the naan bread with cheese and toppings. Too much of a good thing might end up sliding off the pizza and into the air fryer basket.

Adjust cooking time depending on cheese and toppings.

Serve pizza with fresh basil leaves, crushed red pepper flakes, and arugula.

Use naan dippers for the perfect two bite snack or for toddlers.

Can I make naan pizza in the oven?

Yes, if you don't have an air fryer or want to make four or more pizzas at once, I recommend using the oven or toaster oven. To make oven baked naan pizza:

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

Place a sheet of parchment paper or aluminum foil on a large baking sheet.

Layer sauce, cheese, and toppings onto each naan.

Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and turning golden brown.

Cook time might vary depending on your oven and toppings used.

How to store

Store any leftovers covered tightly or in an airtight container for up to three days.

Reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees F until heated through, about 4 minutes.

Freeze in freezer safe containers for longer storage.

Reheat from frozen in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for about 6 to 8 minutes or until hot throughout.

Easiest lunch / snack and so delicious! I've changed it up too and done packaged pizza crust. I do recommend putting the pepperonis on BEFORE the cheese, or you risk them flying off in the air fryer! Lol!
