Ingredients

Uncooked raw sausage links - you can you fresh or frozen links. We used pork sausages, but you may choose a different type of meat like turkey or chicken. We used grocery store brand, but you may choose a name brand like Jimmy Dean.

Instructions

Place sausage links in the air fryer basket in a single layer. For best results, leave a little bit of space in between.

If links are frozen: cook at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, turning at the halfway point. Edges should be slightly browned. You can use a paper towel to blot away any extra grease, if desired.

If links are fresh: cook for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees F, turning at the halfway point, Edges should be slightly browned. You can use a paper towel to blot away any extra fat, if desired.

If using pre-cooked sausages, cook for 6 minutes at 400 degrees F.

Cook to a safe internal temperature.

What should the internal temperature of pork breakfast sausage be?

Pork sausages should reach an internal temperature of 155 degrees F when fully cooked.

Kitchen tips

Be familiar with your brand and type of air fryer as cook time can vary with different models. This recipe was made with the Cosori ProGen 2.

Use parchment paper if desired. It doesn't affect the cooking time.

Different kinds of sausages may have different cook times. Thicker sausages will need more time. Chicken sausages may cook faster. Always use a meat thermometer to test for doneness.

Due to the fatty nature of sausages, cooking spray wan't needed.

Serving suggestions

Batch cook sausages for the week to help with breakfast meal prep.

Pair with eggs, cheese and English muffins to make breakfast sandwiches or roll up in a tortilla for breakfast burritos.

How to store and reheat

Reheat in the microwave at 50% power until hot, about one minute.

Reheat in the air fryer at 380 degrees F for 2 to 3 minutes or until heated through.

Freeze in freezer safe containers for up to four months for longer storage. Thaw in the refrigerator.

Reheat from frozen in the microwave at 50% power for one to two minutes, or reheat in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for about three minutes.

Heat until hot and cooked through or until internal temperature reaches 155 degrees F.
