Why my recipe

This easy creamy sriracha sauce comes together in minutes with just a handful of simple ingredients—no fancy tools or cooking required. It’s based on a popular restaurant-style spicy sriracha mayo, but made at home with clean, customizable ingredients. The result? A rich, zesty kick that’s perfect for anyone who loves spicy foods and homemade sauces.

Ingredients and substitutions

  • Kewpie mayo – This Japanese-style mayonnaise adds a rich umami flavor. This is the secret ingredient that will take your homemade sriracha mayo to the next level. You can use regular mayo or real mayonnaise if preferred. Sour cream or a mix of both sour cream and mayo can be used.
  • Sriracha sauce – This hot sauce is the star of the show! Try spicy chili sauce or tabasco sauce for a different flavor profile.
  • Garlic powder – Adds depth and a mild garlic flavor. You can substitute with a small amount of freshly minced garlic.
  • Smoked paprika – Offers a subtle smokiness. Regular paprika or even a pinch of cayenne can work too.
  • Fresh lime juice (optional) – Adds brightness. Lemon juice or even a splash of vinegar can be used instead.
Ingredients to make the recipe.

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine kewpie mayo, sriracha sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and fresh lime juice (if using).
  2. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Taste and adjust for spice, acidity, or salt as desired.
  4. Serve immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to use.

How to use sriracha cream sauce

This delicious creamy sriracha sauce is perfect for dipping tater tots or my Air Fryer Tater Crowns, drizzling on sushi rolls or my Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps , or using as a zesty spread on sandwiches, like my Instant Pot French Dip!

Tips for success

  • Use kewpie mayo for an extra creamy texture and rich flavor, but don't sweat it if you only have regular mayonnaise.
  • Start with less sriracha if you're sensitive to heat. You can always add more.
  • Make a big batch for parties or meal prep. It keeps well and works with so many dishes—from french fries to grilled meats.
  • Let it chill for 15–30 minutes if you can; this helps the flavors blend beautifully.
  • Add brown sugar (to taste) for a touch of sweetness.

How to store

Store your spicy mayo sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Always use a clean spoon to avoid introducing bacteria. This sauce is not freezer-safe, so it’s best made fresh or in small batches for optimal taste and texture.
