Pizza night just got interesting with this big mac pizza recipe made with a copycat special sauce and lean ground beef. This easy weeknight dinner idea will be a hit with friends and family because of the taste, but you'll love it because it's quick and easy to make.

A part of a big mac pizza cut into slices

    Why you'll love it

Tastes like a Big Mac hamburger - is a fast food cheeseburger your guilty pleasure? Why not make a riff on that burger and turn it into a favorite pizza that no one will be able to resist.

Secret sauce - this homemade big mac sauce is the key to giving your Big Mac pizza recipe that familiar taste. With just a few simple steps you'll have a delicious sauce, spread or dressing you'll want to make again and again.

Easy to make - you just need a few simple ingredients from your grocery store to get this pizza on the table for a fast weeknight dinner.

    Key Ingredients

    Ingredients to make the recipe.

Ground beef - I like to use a leaner cut like ground sirloin. I mix this with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Substitute with ground turkey if desired.

Pizza crust - I use a Pillsbury crust (thin), but feel free to use a homemade version, or another type that you like or are familiar with. You can try a cauliflower crust or almond flour crust if you need a gluten free version. A pre-made one like Boboli will also work.

Cheese - you can use American cheese slices, shredded cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, or colby-jack cheese.

Copycat Big Mac Sauce recipe - mayo, sweet or dill relish, ketchup, diced onions, white vinegar, sugar, and salt.

Favorite toppings - top your cheeseburger pizza with dill pickles, shredded iceberg lettuce, sauce, and sesame seeds for a similar taste to the real thing!

    Instructions

Step One: in a small bowl, mix sauce ingredients together. Place in the fridge and let cool for a couple hours for the best flavor.

Step Two: Preheat the oven and prepare crust according to package directions for pre-baking. You can use a 11 by 15 inch baking sheet or a pizza stone.

Step Three: While the crust is baking, heat a large frying pan or skillet that's been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray (or olive oil) to medium high heat . Crumble ground beef into pan and sprinkle in the seasoning. Brown ground beef until no longer pink. Drain off any excess oil.

Step Four: Remove pre-baked crust from oven and top with meat mixture. Layer slices of American cheese or spread shredded cheese over the meat. Bake an additional 6- 7 minutes, or until the edges are starting to brown and the cheese is well melted.

Step Five: Layer shredded lettuce, dill pickles, and the big mac sauce over the top of the pizza. Sprinkle on some sesame seeds if desired. Cut and serve.

    Top tips

Don't forget to pre-bake the crust.

Mix about ½ cup of the sauce into the meat before topping pizza, if desired.

You can spread the sauce over the top of the crust before adding the meat, if desired.

Serve sauce on the side instead of on the pizza.

Use Thousand Island dressing as a substitute for the secret sauce in a pinch.

Serve with french fries to round out this fast food inspired meal!

    Storage and reheating

This Big Mac pizza recipe is best stored before adding the sauce and shredded lettuce.

Store in the refrigerator, covered for up to three days.

Freeze (without lettuce and pickles) for up to three months. Freezing sauce on the pizza is okay.

Reheat the pizza in the oven or microwave until hot then add sauce, lettuce, and pickles.

    Common questions

    Is Big Mac Pizza keto?

If you need to prepare a keto version, be sure to use a keto approved pizza dough such as Fathead, and low sugar ingredients to make the sauce.
